To support my fellow Canadian bloggers I have decided to participate in Stacking the Shelves created by Tygna over at Tygna's Reviews. As Tygna writes, "Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

I haven't done a STS post in forever! These are all of the books that I have received in my mailbox over the last 3ish weeks, if not a month.

Bought
  • "Tiger Lily" by Jodi Lynn Anderson (I bought both of the following books solely because of Brenna's, from Esther's Ever After, glowing reviews of them!)
  • "For Darkness Shows the Stars" by Diana Peterfreund

For Review
  • "Revived" by Cat Patrick (I reviewed this a few weeks back already)
  • "Rift" by Andrea Cremer ARC (This has been, without a doubt, one of my most favourite books of this year. My review will be going up mid-August as part of the Razorbill blog tour)
  • "The Dead I Know" by Scott Gardner ARC (I have also read this, my review will also be going up early August as part of the Razorbill blog tour)
  • "Junk-Box Jewelery" by Sarah Drew (I do a lot of crafts, but jewelery making isn't one of them so I am really excited to try some of these!)
  • "Waking Storm" by Sarah Porter (Unfortunately I haven't read "Lost Voices" yet, but hopefully I can find a copy so that I can read this!)
  • "The Vindico" by Wesley King (I have heard a lot of good things about this book so I am really excited about it)
  • "Soulbound" by Heather Brewer (Ditto)

Stacking the Shelves

To support my fellow Canadian bloggers I have decided to participate in Stacking the Shelves created by Tygna over at Tygna's Reviews. As Tygna writes, "Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

Bought***
-"Radiant Shadows" by Melissa Marr (I couldn't pass this up with it only being $5.99!)
-"Forgiven" by Jana Oliver (I read this the other day and my review will be going up in August or September)
-"If I Stay" and "Where She Went" by Gayle Forman (After feeling like I was the last person on earth to read this book I decided to get a copy. Literally 5 minutes after finishing this I ran out and bought the second book in the series, "Where She Went", which I then also devoured in a few hours. My reviews of these will also be going up sometime in August or September)

For Review
-"The Lost Girl" by Sangu Mandanna

***Last week I graduated with my B.A. and my family ended up throwing me a surprise party! They invited a ton of friends and family- including Ashley over at Book Labyrinth- and I received a few Chapters gift cards which I used to buy the books in this weeks STS. So special thanks to all of those people who support my book buying addiction! ;)

And just for funsies here is a pic of my sister and I at my convocation. Yes my diploma is HUGE. And I'll have another one next year after I finish my Masters in Library and Information Sciences(!!!) which I start in September (which I chose so that I can basically be surrounded in books for the rest of my life ;) ).

Bought
  • "The Book of Spells" by Kate Brian (Ditto with "Bewitching Season")
  • "The Trouble With Mr. Darcy" by Sharon Lathan ("Pride and Prejudice" is one of my most favourite things of all time- both the movie adaptation and the book. Whenever I stumble across a retelling of it in some way, shape or form- for instance, "Mr. Darcy's Daughters"- I HAVE to read it, therefore when I saw this at Chapters I couldn't pass it up)
  • "Bewitching Season" by Marissa Doyle (Lately I have been on a historical fantasy kick, therefore when I saw this I knew it was right up my alley)
  • "Shadow Bound" by Rachel Vincent (Rachel has been one of my most favourite authors since I was 16 or 17, so I can't wait to see what she has in store for us with her latest installment in her "Unbound" series!)
  • "Shadowspell" by Jenna Black (I have heard lots of good things about this series so when I saw that this book was only $4.99 I had to pick it up! Now I just have to figure out what book it is- I think its the second?)

Traded (Thanks to Ashley over at Book Labyrinth!)
  • "Darker Still" by Leanna Renee Hibeber
  • "The Last Princess" by Galaxy Craze
  • "Purity" by Jackson Pearce

Stacking the Shelves: The Sale Edition

To support my fellow Canadian bloggers I have decided to participate in Stacking the Shelves created by Tygna over at Tygna's Reviews. As Tygna, the creator of this new feature (which was inspired by The Story Siren's IMM), writes, "Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

On Friday I happened to randomly stop by my local Chapters- boy, am I ever glad that I did! Not only did they had a TON of YA books on clearance, but they were having a 'Buy 3 Books Get the 4th Free' sale- I managed to snag all 8 of these books (all of which were hardcover and have been on my wishlist for a LONG time) for $35!.

Bought:
  • "Cryer's Cross" by Lisa McMann (I feel like this only recently came out- and for it to be on clearance? :O! )
  • "Possession" by Elana Johnson (I recently received an ARC of the second book in this series, which comes out later this week, from the publisher. Never having read the first book I preordered the first book in paperback, but when I saw the hardcover was only $5.99 I snatched it up and canceled the other. Hopefully I can get around to reading this today so that I can get my review of "Surrender" up in time for the release date).
  • "Choker" by Elizabeth Woods
  • "Swoon" by Nina Malkin (I must admit that I had never heard of this book before and that I only bought it because the cover looks not unlike the original cover of Jeri Smith-Ready's "Shade" series).
  • "Elixir" by Hilary Duff (Don't knock these celebrity turned author books! I read a few of Lauren Conrad's books and I was pleasantly surprised by how good they were. This book has been on my radar for a while now since I have heard REALLY good things about it).
  • "And Both Were Young" by Madeleine L'Engle (This was another book I didn't know of, but since it sounded like Stephanie Perkin's books I decided to pick it up).
  • "Wintergirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson (One of my close friends has been BEGGING me to read this for some time now)
  • "Darkness Becomes Her" by Kelly Keaton

  • "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth (my review of this will be going up on the blog on Thursday or Friday)

For Review

  • "Between the Lines" ARC by Jodi Picoult
  • "Surrender" ARC by Elana Johnson (I must admit that I have yet to read "Possess", even though its been on my wishlist FOREVER, so this will give me an excuse to buy it!)

  • "The Unnaturalists" by Tiffany Trent (I must also admit that I had never heard of this book prior to having received it, but it sounds AMAZING- right up my alley- I really want to start reading it ASAP, but I think that I better hold out until August when it is released)

What did you get this week to add to your shelves?
