Stacking the Shelves: The Sale Edition

To support my fellow Canadian bloggers I have decided to participate in Stacking the Shelves created by Tygna over at Tygna's Reviews. As Tygna, the creator of this new feature (which was inspired by The Story Siren's IMM), writes, "Stacking The Shelves is all about the books we are adding to our shelves each week, sharing with you our excitement for our newest titles and maybe have you discover a new book in the process!"

On Friday I happened to randomly stop by my local Chapters- boy, am I ever glad that I did! Not only did they had a TON of YA books on clearance, but they were having a 'Buy 3 Books Get the 4th Free' sale- I managed to snag all 8 of these books (all of which were hardcover and have been on my wishlist for a LONG time) for $35!.

Bought:
  • "Cryer's Cross" by Lisa McMann (I feel like this only recently came out- and for it to be on clearance? :O! )
  • "Possession" by Elana Johnson (I recently received an ARC of the second book in this series, which comes out later this week, from the publisher. Never having read the first book I preordered the first book in paperback, but when I saw the hardcover was only $5.99 I snatched it up and canceled the other. Hopefully I can get around to reading this today so that I can get my review of "Surrender" up in time for the release date).
  • "Choker" by Elizabeth Woods
  • "Swoon" by Nina Malkin (I must admit that I had never heard of this book before and that I only bought it because the cover looks not unlike the original cover of Jeri Smith-Ready's "Shade" series).
  • "Elixir" by Hilary Duff (Don't knock these celebrity turned author books! I read a few of Lauren Conrad's books and I was pleasantly surprised by how good they were. This book has been on my radar for a while now since I have heard REALLY good things about it).
  • "And Both Were Young" by Madeleine L'Engle (This was another book I didn't know of, but since it sounded like Stephanie Perkin's books I decided to pick it up).
  • "Wintergirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson (One of my close friends has been BEGGING me to read this for some time now)
  • "Darkness Becomes Her" by Kelly Keaton

What did you get in your mailbox?

  7. I saw 'Choked' on sale and I was tempted to buy it.... howeverrrr as we've talked about I already have far too many and I am only going to buy books I've already read and enjoyed.

'Darkness Becomes Her' sounds interesting, and I feel like I've heard good things about it. 'Swoon' however? We'll have to talk about how much I hated it, haha.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!

Though I appreciate awards I have decided to make my blog an "award-free zone". Unfortunately I do not have the time to hold up my end of award-giving. But again, I appreciate you thinking of me!
