"You Killed Wesley Payne" by Sean Beaudoin+ GIVEAWAY

Recently I had the opportunity to talk to author Sean Beaudoin about his new book "You Killed Wesley Payne" (which was released on February 1st, 2011) and I was able to pick his brain about his inspirations, his favorite words, foods and lots of other fun stuff- you can check out the interview HERE.

"He’s come to do a job.

A job that involves a body.

A body wrapped in duct tape found hanging from the goal posts at the end of the football field.

You Killed Wesley Payne is a truly original and darkly hilarious update of classic pulp-noir, in which hard-boiled seventeen year old Dalton Rev transfers to the mean hallways of Salt River High to take on the toughest case of his life. The question isn’t whether Dalton’s going to get paid. He always gets paid. Or whether he’s gonna get the girl. He always (sometimes) gets the girl. The real question is whether Dalton Rev can outwit crooked cops and killer cliques in time to solve the mystery of “The Body” before it solves him.

Sean Beaudoin (Going Nowhere Faster, Fade to Blue) evokes the distinctive voices of legendary crime/noir authors Dashiell Hammett and Jim Thompson with a little bit of Mean Girls and Heathers throw in in for good measure. It’ll tease you, please you, and never ever leave you. Actually, that’s not true. It’s only a book. One that’s going to suck you in, spit you out, and make you shake hands with the devil. Probably."

"You Killed Wesley Payne" has received some great reviews!

"Beaudoin plays a Chandler hand with a Tarantino smirk in this ultra-clever high-school noir, hitching you to a propulsive mystery with enough doublecrosses and blindsiding reveals to give you vertigo. Moreover, the opening “Clique Chart” might just be the funniest four pages you’ll read all year.”

“You Killed Wesley Payne is a spectacular noir mystery filled with knife-sharp writing and clever turns. I loved it!”
-Holly Black (Bestselling Author of The Curse Worksers & The Poison Eaters) (EDIT: Total crazy fan-girl moment... Friggin Holly Black loves this book! So what does that tell you? Ummm.... That this book is pretty spectacular that's what!)

And it might just have one of the best book trailers ever. No lie.

In honor of Sean and his new release I have one signed copy of Sean's first book, "Going Nowhere Faster", to giveaway to one lucky participant. All you have to do is fill out the THIS FORM- US only folks and you do not have to be a follower to enter (but I would total love/ appreciate if you did follow me). The winner will be drawn on February 26th, 2011. One entry per person.

"Stan Smith has the world's dullest name, and the world's dullest life to go with it. At 17, the former junior chess champion turned "Town's Laziest Register Monkey at the Town's Only Video Store" has no car, no college, and, of course, no girl. If that weren't pathetic enough, he's got an organic-food-freak vegan mother, an eccentric inventor father, a dead-end job, a dog with a flatulence problem, and a former classmate threatening to kill him. With a 165 IQ, Stan was expected to Be Something and Go Somewhere. But when all he has is a beat-up old bike that keeps getting vandalized, he's going nowhere, faster."

(Please note that because this prize is coming from a third party that I am in no way responsible if for some reason it doesn't find its way to the winner, ie. it was eaten by USPS)

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!

Though I appreciate awards I have decided to make my blog an "award-free zone". Unfortunately I do not have the time to hold up my end of award-giving. But again, I appreciate you thinking of me!
