Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating...

Title: "Passion"
Author: Lauren Kate
Release Date: June 14, 2011

From Lauren's Website: "When I started writing Passion, I knew the series was bursting into some very exciting uncharted territory. This chase backwards through time, with each chapter set in a different country and a different century across five thousand years is undoubtedly the most romantic, most intense, most…passionate book I’ve ever written–and I think you’ll agree it has the cover to match. I love the dramatic bursts of color, the intensity and desolation of the backdrop, and of course, the dress. It’s also the perfect book to show just a hint of Luce’s face. I am counting down the days until I can share the book with you, but in the meantime, I hope you love the cover as much as I do."

So I haven't decided whether or not I like this cover yet. "Fallen" and "Torment" had such beautiful covers, I loved how they were all dark, gloomy, and monochromatic, but this book? With it all being in colour? No idea how I feel about it- I think it will take me a while to get used to it. Does anyone else feel like the model is way too skinny looking?

  1. Ah! I still need to read Torment! I'm on the fence about this cover as well. The thing I liked so much about Fallen and Torment was they were so monochromatic like you said with the grays, blacks and blues, and it gave such an eerie and haunting look to them. I don't think I like the color in this one. I think it's mostly the weird orange cloud that I don't like. If that sky was gray like the others, I might like it better:) And yes, that model is entirely too thin.

  3. Could never really decide on this series. Heard mixed reviews. But the covers are intriguing. But I'm with you on this one. Can't decide if I like it or not!

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!

Though I appreciate awards I have decided to make my blog an "award-free zone". Unfortunately I do not have the time to hold up my end of award-giving. But again, I appreciate you thinking of me!
