Book Blogger Hop
Jennifer from Crazy for Books asks for this week's Book Blogger Hop question:
"What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs? Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?"
Hmmm.... I can't say that this is something I have honestly given much thought to... I do love reviews, especially for books that I am tres excited about and have just read (*cough, cough "The Last Sacrifice"***) because I love hearing everyone's different take about it, and I love talking out the plot line and everything that happened with someone else who has actually read it (I mean, talking out a book with my mom who has never read it can only go so far. She is great and tries and all, but gets confused with all of the character names I am throwing at her- especially with YA paranormal, whose characters seems to have really uncommon names). I also like reading reviews about books I have yet to read before, especially if they can help sway me to either purchase a book or just to check it out from the library. And you know what? I am not the type of person who gets all that mad about spoilers... If I read the plot line and know what happens beforehand, meh... (and a secret, this is kinda bad... But sometimes when I am really looking forward to a book and cannot wait to see how it all wraps up in the end, I will read the last couple of pages. Shhhh...).
Anyways, author interviews are a lot of fun too. I really like when authors really get into the silly questions that bloggers sometimes ask (ie. what is your favourite ice-cream). I hate it when they get all uptight about questions like that and refuse to answer them or answer them too seriously- have a little fun!
Articles are great too, I mean I would have never known that CLARY HAD FRIGGIN' BEEN CAST IN "THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS" MOVIE HAD I NOT READ CASSIE CLARE'S LIVEJOURNAL AND CLICKED ON THE LINK THAT LED TO THE ARTICLE!!! Sorry, I just got a little excited- I like the girl that they cast- much better than Emma Stone IMO.
And giveaways, well who doesn't love the chance at winning free stuff? Speaking of giveaways, don't forget to check out MY FANTABULOUS FIRST GIVEAWAY!

I'm with you on this one, Avery! I love everything about book blogging! I think the reviews are probably my favourite, but that's just me :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Oh, I love it when bloggers ask authors silly questions, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I like Lily Collins better for the part than Emma Stone.
I love hearing what people thought about books I read and loved! I'm already a follower! My hop is at Coffee Table Press
ReplyDeleteOh my, you're one of *those* people who reads the ending first! :D Haha, I'm the total opposite. When I get to the last page I always have to cover up the last paragraph so I don't accidentally read it before I should.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice weekend!
@ Small Review, I think I am getting better at not doing it anymore, small steps towards my recovery... Plus, whenever my mom sees me reading the last page and she knows that I just got the book and cannot already be that far into it, despite my fast reading abilities (its like my own superpower ;) ), she always scolds me... ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Avery! I'm one of those people too, I flipped right to the back of Last Sacrifice to see who she ended up with. It doesn't ruin it for me either or make me less emotionally involved, I just like knowing! I don't even try to curb it, I've just accepted that I'm going to do it and move on;) Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete@ Jenny, YOU DID?!? Gosh, I didn't do it for "The Last Sacrifice", I mean, I really wanted to (especially in those moments in the novel where I was about to pull my hair out where I was convinced that she was going to pick the boy I didn't want her too)... But I knew that if I did I would kick myself later...
ReplyDeleteI love it when I find a new book because of a blogger, or new information. I also love the author interviews and seeing how I might differ with a blogger about a book.
ReplyDeleteHee hee.. I know what you mean about trying to talk to a non-reading parent about books. Mine just usually nod and smile politely. :)
I love to enter the giveaways. It's always exciting to be exposed to new books with the possibility of getting to read them.
ReplyDeleteUsually I'm reading reviews of books I haven't heard of; it's how I learn about new to me books. Here is why I read book blogs. Happy blog hop!
ReplyDeleteI'm always up for reviews on books I might conflicted over! Sometimes it's been the reviews I've read here in the blogosphere that have led me to find a new fave series! And the author interviews are always fun and giveaways are always fun as well!
ReplyDeleteHere's my hop
