"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
Title: "Defiance"
Author: Lili St. Crow
Release Date: April 1, 2011
The "Strange Angels" series by Lili St. Crow is one of my most favourite series of all time and therefore I cannot wait to get my hands on the fourth novel of the series.
From Amazon: "Sixteen-year-old Dru's worst fears have come true - Sergej, the deadly nosferat, has kidnapped her best friend Graves and she must now go on a suicidal rescue mission to bring him back in one piece. That is, if she can put all of Christophe's training to good use, defeat her mother's traitor, Anna, once and for all, and manage to survive another day..."

Good shout for WoW!! Can't wait for this one myself!
ReplyDeleteI have preordered this book. I haven't started the series yet, but Lilith Saintcrow is an automatic buy for me! lol
ReplyDeleteI promised myself that I would not go back and start any more series...but this one looks like fun!
ReplyDelete@ Kelly, I have read some of Lili's other series, Dante Valentine nad Jill Kismet, and those series have nothing on this... So yes, it is that good.
ReplyDelete@Alison, it is a lot of fun, it is kinda (IMO) a take on a female version of the "Supernatural" TV series and the Evernight book series...
The Storm Before Atlanta
ReplyDeleteBy Karen Schwabach
Publication date: December 28, 2010
At a time when most people have grown weary of the war between the states, two young children are desperate to find their way to the battlefields. Jeremy DeGroot wants nothing more than to join a troop as a drummer boy. For Dulcie, a runaway slave, freedom means she must head directly toward the fighting in the hopes that she'll become "contraband," that is, property of the Union troops. Both Jeremy and Dulcie find a place with the 107th New York Volunteer Regiment and even start to forge a friendship. But all that is threatened when they keep crossing paths with the mysterious Charlie, a young Confederate soldier, who may look like the enemy but feels more like a friend.
Ooh I want to read this one too! It'll be one of my future WoWs! I tend to go down my release list!
ReplyDeleteHere's my WoW for this week

Haven't read this series yet but I would really love to! So many great series to read, so little time.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Lili St. Crow, am I missing out on fabulous books? I do like the sound of this series, I'll have to add it to my overflowing list of to-be read books:) Love it! Thanks for the recommendation:)
ReplyDelete@ Jenny, I think that you might be missing out a bit... if you do decide to read some of her books, I would recommend this series out of any of her other series (but remember that this is a YA series, so if YA isn't your thing, then you might not enjoy it as much). Her Jill Kismet series is also pretty good (it is an adult series), I much prefer it over her Dante Valentine series (also adult) which is pretty crazy/ the main character makes me want to pull my hair out... *Shakes head*** I can't not read that series though, no matter how much I despise Dante. ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series, but I love that cover! If you like this YA, I might have to check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Pick! I LOVE This series =)))
